Bookoff McAndrews (BoMc) is seeking a Docketing Specialist with 3-5 years of IP docketing or related work experience required to join our firm’s dynamic docketing team. This position has the option to be fully remote. The IP Docketing Specialist will report directly to the IP Docketing Manager.

Specific Duties

The Docketing Specialist’s primary responsibilities will be will include working on the day-to-day operations of the Docketing Department; including but not limited to:

  • Docketing incoming correspondence derived daily from the USPTO;
  • reporting newly received USPTO correspondence to members of the firm;
  • docketing and de-docketing pertinent deadlines;
  • opening new matters;
  • preparing system reports;
  • researching and resolving docketing inaccuracies;
  • answering questions related to the docket;
  • and other duties as assigned.

About You

  • Minimum of 3 years IP docketing or related work experience required.
  • Knowledge of U.S. patent rules, regulations, prosecution procedures, terminology, and deadlines.
  • AppColl experience is a plus.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent computer skills required, including a strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Positive attitude toward internal and external service.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced office environment during “core” business hours.
  • Self-starter with commitment to success and personal professional growth.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and professional service skills (written and verbal).
  • Enjoy being involved in all aspects of a growing and changing law firm environment.
  • B.A/B.S. degree is highly desired.
